At the end of August the festival of su Pisci, with roast fish tasting, is staged in San Priamo, and in the town of Cursa a su Coccoi, an equestrian joust in which riders thrown at speed strike a typical bread. The descents of the knights alternate with the gracefulness of skilled jockeys. The event includes the donkey prize, a show that involves children above all. The Savitesi events are accompanied by the melodious sound of launeddas, a policalamo instrument whose origins are lost over time. The Academy of the master Luigi Lai handed down today the use of an ancestral Sarrabese tradition.
